Britt began learning jewelry making through his family's jewelry business in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His career developed through decades of bench work, custom design, fabrication, repair, and direct experience with jewelry clients.

Working on both new designs and existing jewelry taught him to consider much more than appearance. Proportion, stone-setting construction, comfort, and long-term durability all influence how a piece is designed and made.

After his years at BVW Jewelers, Britt established Forge & Fern Jewelry to devote more time to original designer collections. The studio combines his technical experience as a goldsmith with a renewed focus on creative exploration.
